Learning Objectives
After viewing this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to:
- Utilize most current evidenced-based practices to improve confidence in diagnosing and managing major disease states in neurology, including multiple sclerosis, headaches, epilepsy, CNS infections, movement disorders, dementia, sleep disorders, delirium, neuromuscular diseases, neurootology, stroke management neuroophthalmology, pain, autoimmune conditions and ethical issues in neurology
- Discuss neurologic disease utilizing a case-based approach across the age groups from pediatrics to older age
- Explore the utility of neurologic testing, including neuropsychiatric testing, sleep studies, imaging and neurophysiological assessments such as EEG and EMG/NVC
- Identify the most current and appropriate therapeutic strategies for common neurologic disorders and complaints
- Identify, articulate and apply ethical principles to the care of patients with complex and challenging neurological disorders
